Millions living in and around Tokyo are being asked to use less electricity and air conditioning, by the Japanese government, CNN reports.
Parts of the country, including the capital, are experiencing a record heatwave and it's straining the power grid.
Experts warn these temperatures are forecast for the rest of the week, possibly getting even hotter.
