Horses and parish jockeys representing the city wards raced bareback and in costume around the Il Campo, the central piazza of Siena, Italy on Saturday in the Palio di Provenzano, the city’s bi-annual horse race.
The Winner of the Palio was parish jockey Giovanni Atzeni who took home the prize as the sound of roaring crowds filled the medieval city.
