Despite U.S. President Biden’s signing an executive order on Friday aiming to protect reproductive freedoms for women in the U.S., the organizers of Saturday’s Women’s March in Washington D.C. say he needs to be doing more.

Saturday’s demonstration started in the morning just blocks from the White House, with activists showing up in the rain to demand the president use his power to support the right to choose a safe abortion.

The executive director of the event Rachel O’Leary told local media that Saturday’s march is intended to send a message to Biden.“You have the power to declare a public health emergency on abortion, codify reproductive rights through executive action, and expand the court. Be our champion and use that power” O’Leary said.
