Monkeypox is spreading globally, with health officials voicing growing concern over the outbreaks in countries where the virus is not endemic. 

Several U.S. cities introduced vaccination campaigns, while others offered vaccinations to high-risk people or those who think they may have been exposed.

Here are some of the latest facts about the virus.

The U.S. released 132,000 doses of the Jynneos two-dose vaccine from a national strategic stockpile, but supplies are scarce.  Monkeypox vaccines to protect against the blister-like lesions and flu-like symptoms are not readily available in most parts of the world.
