One of the stories of the World Athletics Championship could come in the Women’s High Jump. 

Yaroslava Mahuchikh is Ukrainian and fled her country following the conflict that began in February. 

After sheltering in a basement, she embarked on a three day car journey to compete at the World Indoor Championships in Serbia, where she won gold. 

She now has another chance to win a medal, this time at the outdoor championships in Eugene, having qualified on Saturday for Tuesday's final. 

She’s spoke with CGTN’s Dan Williams.
