California's Oak fire burns down homes, more than 6,000 acres

Close to 6,000 people are being asked to evacuate on Saturday after the Oak fire exploded in size overnight, burning homes to the ground in Mariposa, in the U.S. state of California.  At least ten structures have been destroyed and 2,000 more at risk.  

What started as another brush fire on Friday burned through more than 6,000 acres on Saturday afternoon, with minimal containment.

A fire crew of more than 400 people are fighting the blaze on the ground and in the air.  Investigators are searching for the cause of the fire.
