City planners, researchers and activists from around the globe have gathered for World Water Week in Stockholm.

It comes as many parts of the world face unprecedented drought conditions.

In the southwest United States, water cuts have been ordered for several states that rely on the Colorado River as authorities scramble for a long-term plan.
