In the year since the Taliban ascended to power in Afghanistan, the United Nations says women's rights have eroded dramatically - from education to employment.

Despite outcries from many countries around the world, the hardline conservative religious leaders in Afghanistan say they are committed to upholding what they see as the rights of women as outlined by Islamic law.

CGTN's Sean Callebs recently returned from Afghanistan, where the few women's rights advocates willing to demonstrate, are demanding to know why the international community is not doing more to help their fight.
