Large investments are being made in the electric vehicle industry in the United States, to get more people out of gas guzzlers and into e-cars, trucks, and buses.

But there’s a long way to go to create the kind of infrastructure needed to cater for a growing number of e-vehicles and different ideas of how to charge for the service.
