At a time when inflation has been driving up food prices across the United States, some ranchers are reducing their cattle herds due to the on-going drought and the increasing cost of feed.
The move could reduce the number of available livestock and drive-up meat prices even more.
But one meat processing plant in Southern California is using local sourcing and higher exports as a way to remain competitive.
