This summer Brazil became the first country in the world to publish a ranking of its cities based on UN goals for sustainable development. Many cities showed significant progress toward reaching those goals, while others are still clearly struggling. 

Dead last on the list of 5,570 cities was Santana do Araguaia, in the state of Para. Paulo Cabral visited the city ​to take a closer look.
