World leaders at this year's United Nations General Assembly are expected to appeal for solutions to the worst cost of living crisis in a generation.

Earlier this year, the UN launched a special panel to target rising food prices and helped negotiate a deal to free up grain trapped by fighting in Ukraine.

It's now hoping to take on energy companies to bring down fuel costs - but analysts say that’s a much tougher challenge.
