A group of migrants were dropped off by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to Martha's Vineyard on Wednesday night. 

Officials of the upscale resort town were surprised by the unannounced flights. 

Martha’s Vineyard has called itself a 'sanctuary destination' that welcomes immigrants. 

Still, Democrats were quick to criticize the move as a 'political stunt."  

The White House accused Republicans of using the migrants as "political pawns."
