The thought of having to give up your pet is a heartbreaking one.

But a growing number of families are having to make this impossible choice because of their financial situation.

The cost-of-living crisis, coupled with an increase in pet ownership during the COVID-19 pandemic, is causing a spike in people relinquishing their animals.

Many are also being forced into moving to cheaper housing that isn’t as pet-friendly.
