Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 77) in New York on September 21. 

Wang Yi said that the good relations between China and Hungary benefit from the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two sides and the two countries always adhere to independence, sincerity, and friendship, and win-win cooperation.

China appreciates Hungary's firm adherence to the policy of friendship with China, abiding by the one-China principle, and upholding a fair position on issues concerning China's core interests. 

The high-level development of China-Hungary relations is in the fundamental interests of the two countries and the people. In the face of a century of changes, China will continue to plan bilateral relations from a strategic height, consolidate strategic mutual trust, practice genuine multilateralism, resist unilateral bullying, and maintain the basic norms of international exchanges.China will continue to encourage powerful enterprises to invest in Hungary, and expects Hungary to maintain policy continuity, stability and long-term stability.

Szijjarto said that Hungary is the first European country to sign the "Belt and Road" cooperation document with China, and Hungary-China cooperation has played an important role in promoting the economic development of Hungary. Hungary firmly adheres to the one-China policy and opposes camp confrontation.

Hungary will continue to unswervingly carry out cooperation with China and actively participate in China-CEEC cooperation.

Wang Yi said that China and Central and Eastern European countries have carried out mutually beneficial cooperation on a voluntary basis, and have continuously produced cooperation fruits, which not only meet their respective needs, but also help to achieve complementary advantages and add new cooperation channels. China is full of confidence in the future of China-CEEC cooperation.
