How a New Mexico city is fighting water crisis

A small town in New Mexico recently came dangerously close to running out of water. 

A potential disaster was averted when temporary infiltration systems were put in place, but the town of Las Vegas learned a lesson from the unprecedented crisis and is now committed to diversifying and conserving its water. 

New Mexico officials are working on a 50-year water plan as the state copes with a two-decade long drought.
