U.S. President Joe Biden says the coronavirus pandemic is "over." His remarks during a television interview last weekend comes as the nationwide death toll from COVID-19 is averaging about 500 people a day. 

Health experts warn the president's statement could overshadow the reality that the virus will remain a leading cause of death in the U.S. indefinitely, while the less understood "Long COVID" condition continues to complicate thousands of lives.
