Millions of residents across Southwest Florida woke up to destroyed communities on Thursday after Hurricane Ian swept across the state as a Category 4.

Although Ian lost strength as the storm moved across the state, forecasters predict it will re-strengthen into a Category 1 Hurricane before landing near Charleston, South Carolina.

Hurricane Ian has caused flooding and other damage across the state from high winds, storm surges and heavy rain.

As the storm continues north, flash flooding is expected in more southern states.
