Many in Chile are recognizing the third anniversary of anti-government protests through rallies in key cities.

While some groups clashed with police, who used gas and water cannons, other demonstrations stayed peaceful to remember victims.

In 2019, protests lasted several weeks nationwide, as thousands marched against inequality.

More than 30 people died and several were injured during the protests, Reuters reports.
