Elon Musk’s Twitter revolution is in full swing, after rolling out his plan to start charging about $8 a month for the blue checkmark, currently a widely recognized symbol that identifies a verified account.
Since purchasing the social media platform last month for $44 billion, the world’s richest man also initiated cuts to about half its workforce, as he seeks to slash costs. Twitter is hemorrhaging $4 million in losses every day, he says. But these lay-offs have been met with intense backlash, and prompted thousands of users to leave the app. Benji Hyer has more.
