As part of its efforts to reach carbon neutrality by 2050,1 Rio de Janeiro is encouraging sustainable transportation. 

Several initiatives, including a light rail system in the city center, a fleet of buses in the process of electric conversion and an important expansion of bike lanes are already under way.
