Mexico eliminates daylight saving time

Last month, the Mexican government voted to eliminate daylight saving time. 

That means most parts of the country will remain on standard time from hereon out, and residents will not reset their clocks and spring forward next year. 

Officials say the new regulations are about health and safety and saving energy.
