Delegates from all over the world are gathering in Montreal on Tuesday for the two-week UN biodiversity summit known as COP15.  

Huang Runqui, Minister of Ecology and Environment of China, and COP15 President welcomed participants to the conference and stressed that biodiversity loss is a shared challenge for all humanity.

Scientists, government officials and environmental activists will attempt to iron out a deal to ensure protection for the planet’s ecosystems, which are increasingly vanishing in the industrialized world.
