At a time of political upheaval in Peru, some conservative lawmakers are pushing a bill brought by lawmaker Jorge Morante aimed at stripping Peru’s isolated and uncontacted Indigenous peoples in the Amazon rainforest of the legal protections that preserve their land and way of life.
