Peru’s new president vows to work toward political stability

Peruvian President Dina Boluarte held her first news conference Thursday with foreign reporters. She pledged the government will investigate the deaths of those who died during nationwide protests.
An estimated two dozen people have been killed and hundreds injured in clashes with security forces.
