Residents of California have been coping with a drought for many years. The month of December has brought some relief in the form of powerful storms, but reservoirs remain low. 

Some experts recommend implementing pond projects to harness floodwater, which would otherwise damage infrastructure and crops. Huron, a small farming town, is now working on establishing its own water security.
