The 118th U.S. Congress finally began this week after the Speaker of the House standoff brought government business almost to a standstill.
But if it brought relief for new Speaker Kevin McCarthy after the most protracted election for more than 150 years, some lawmakers fear a looming battle over money will be far more damaging.
