Venezuela’s teachers are the lowest paid in Latin America, making between ten and thirty U.S. dollars a month. Unable to survive on that salary, teachers are now driving some of the largest protests seen in Venezuela in years, as they demand improvements to their pay conditions amid sky-high inflation.
