One of the newest lawmakers in the U.S. Congress has started another week of fending off more accusations that he's lied about much of his past.

Republican George Santos was elected in November's midterm elections.

He's since been under pressure to explain key elements of his background that have been challenged – as his local party, voters in Nassau County, New York and Republican-leaning media outlets call for his resignation.
