On February 18, 2023 local time, Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission, met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Netherlands Wopke Hoekstra while attending the Munich Security Conference.

Wang Yi expressed that openness and pragmatism are an important connotation of China-Netherlands relations. Faced with the unilateralism and protectionism of some countries in the world, and their enthusiasm for decoupling and breaking chains, it is hoped that the Netherlands side will adhere to the principle of independence and the tradition of open cooperation, eliminate interference, maintain the healthy development momentum of China-Netherlands cooperation, and ensure the stability and stability of the global production and supply chain. As an active role in promoting the recovery of the world economy, China will open up new prospects and provide new opportunities for China-Netherlands cooperation.

China-Netherlands relations have ushered in a new 50 years. China is willing to carry out high-level exchanges with the Netherlands to promote mutually beneficial cooperation and achieve common development. The Netherlands is a founding and core member state of the European Union and a "gateway" for China-EU cooperation. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Netherlands Wopke Hoekstra said that the world is interdependent, and all parties have the responsibility to firmly uphold multilateralism and support multilateral mechanisms and international rules.
