A grandfather was finally reunited with his baby granddaughter who was trapped in the rubble for two and a half days after Türkiye's devastating earthquake.
Mithat Kilisli and his five-month-old granddaughter Zehra were trapped, eventually rescued separately, and taken to different hospitals.
Kilisli had to wait three weeks before being reunited with Zehra, the only surviving member of his family.
After taking a DNA test to prove their relationship, Kilisli was able to take Zehra from the children's home run by Türkiye's Family Ministry.
Despite the tragic loss, Kilisli is grateful to have found Zehra and is determined to care for her.
The earthquake's death toll in Türkiye has risen to more than 45,000, and millions are left homeless.
The Family Ministry continues to work to find children who were separated from their relatives during the disaster.
