State battles over abortion rights in the U.S. show no sign of let-up - following last year's ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court overturning a woman's constitutional right to abortion. 

The Republican-dominated legislature in Florida wants to ban abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, following similar prohibitions in other Republican-controlled states.
