Brazilian waste pickers play vital role

On Global Recycling Day (March 18), the UN aims to promote recycling around the world.
It’s a significant date for Brazil which recycles just 4 percent of all its solid waste, and that is largely due to the back-breaking work of a huge army of waste pickers, most of whom are women.
