Transporting electricity over long distances without losing power is a challenge.

It's a problem for countries like Brazil where important sources of energy, such as the hydropower plants in the Amazon, are thousands of kilometers away from areas with higher demand for electricity in southern Brazil.

The use of ultra-high voltage lines such the one built and operated by Chinese stated-owned State Grid Corporation across the country can be part of the solution.
