Colorado River drought crisis

It’s been a rainy and snowy first few months of the year for parts of the U.S. West, and that’s putting it mildly. 

But that doesn’t obscure the fact that the region remains in a severe drought, one that’s seen the Colorado River, which provides water to 40 million people, slowly begin to dry up. 

The U.S. government has ordered seven states which rely on the river to sharply cut their water use but coming up with a plan to do that is proving extraordinarily difficult.
