Over 1,700 military personnel from 18 different countries are taking part in a multinational military exercise hosted by the U.S. military in Germany, Denmark, and Romania.
U.S. Major General Stephen Maranian stressed the importance of such exercises between NATO members. He pointed out that it was necessary for all nations to be able to operate together seamlessly and to rehearse and practice in peacetime so that they could work together in combat if needed.
This year saw 18 different nations participate.
Currently, NATO consists of 30 nations, and with the potential ratification of the membership of Sweden and Finland, it could grow to 32.
