Dozens were buried under an avalanche of snow in India’s northeastern Sikkim state on Sunday. Eyewitnesses say a caravan of up to 30 tourists ignored warnings and forged ahead into dangerous mountain territory.
At least 20 people were rescued alive from under the snow.
Rescue workers dug with shovels and excavators to search for survivors.
