Dust from the construction of large airport in Vietnam has been sprinkling nearby neighborhoods with a layer of dust for months.

As the weeks go by, the layers of construction dust on household items grow thicker. Even the uniforms of school children have turned a shade of red from the dust in the air.

The new airport is near the business hub of Ho Chi Minh City.

The airport’s completion will cost close to $16 billion, and may not be done until 2026.

Trucks were dispersed by investors and contractors to dampen the ground after locals complained of the dust. Many residents say the dust is unbearable.

Local authorities have demanded Vietnam’s environment ministry conduct an inspection.
