The clashes led to an exchange of fire in Gaza and raised concerns about further violence.Israeli police tried to evacuate worshippers from the mosque using stun grenades and rubber-coated steel bullets. Palestinians responded by throwing objects at the police. The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that six people were injured in the incident.

China has expressed concern over the heightened tension and called for restraint from all sides, particularly Israel. The U.S. also voiced its concern and stated that it is in regular contact with Israeli partners and the Palestinian authority.

Nearly half of all United Nations Human Rights Council’s resolutions have condemned Israel for its treatment, expulsion, and illegal occupation of Palestinians people and their land.
