Across the United States, the cities with the worst air quality are areas where Black and Hispanic residents comprise the largest ethnic groups.
A recent study by an American team of researchers found that the nation’s most racially-segregated cities are also among the most polluted.
These communities are seen as more likely to have elevated asthma, respiratory problems, diabetes, heart disease or stroke.
