Thousands gathered in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo on Friday to take part in a silent protest demanding justice for the 269 people killed in the 2019 Easter Sunday bombings in the country that also left another 500 people injured.

The demonstration included local religious orders, who showed up in support of those killed in three of the churches attacked.  Two  of the churches were Catholic and one was Protestant.

A total of 42 foreigners were among the 269 killed, most died in separate attacks on three tourist hotels on Easter Sunday. The protesters marched to demand the government take more adequate measures to uncover and punish those responsible, including the mastermind behind the shocking coordinated suicide bombings. No one has yet been held responsible for the shocking attacks.

Many blame the former Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirinsena and then-Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe for failing to act and letting poor political communication get in the way of justice for those killed.
