On April 29, elementary school students from the Washington D.C. area came to the city’s Chinatown to learn about Chinese musical instruments. Hosted by Howard County Chinese School, the event is the first in a series called “Touch of China in Chinatown.”
Music performer and teacher Jingya Liu talked about Chinese history and showcased a variety of Chinese instruments for the students and parents through music and performance. The students learned ocarina and played a song together at the event.
