As Chinese President Xi Jinping's Special Representative, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng attended the welcoming dinner hosted by the Chinese and British business community in London on May 4.
In his remarks at the event, Han Zheng highlighted China's efforts and determination to promote Chinese national rejuvenation through Chinese-style modernization. He said China's development is supported by its consistent and stable domestic and foreign policies.“No matter how the world changes, China's development will bring more opportunities to the world, and inject certainty and positive energy," he added.
Han pointed out that China has become the major trade partner of over 140 countries and regions and ranks 31st among 190 economies in the World Bank report on business environment. Every day, $320 million in Chinese direct investment goes to the rest of the world, and over 3,000 overseas-funded enterprises settle in China every month, Han said, adding that China will continue to support globalization and expand opening-up, and is willing to progress along the road of win-win cooperation with other countries.
Han emphasized that China-UK cooperation will usher in better prospects as China deepens the development of modernization. He hoped that the two sides can build up healthy and stable bilateral relations, which provide a solid foundation and sound environment for win-win cooperation.
Han said China views the UK as a strategic partner, and China will have policies to facilitate British investment in China. China will also promote high-level two-way opening up of the capital market, he added. It is hoped that the UK implements a positive policy towards China and creates an open, fair and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese businesses. China is willing to strengthen communication and coordination in international affairs with the UK and do its part to promote global peace and security, protect biodiversity and fight against climate change.
