Migrants stuck at Peru-Chile border

Hundreds of migrants, many of them undocumented, are stranded in camps along Peru’s border with Chile as the country has doubled down on their entry along its borders. 

Peru's interior minister said last week that more than half of the 1.5 million foreigners in Peru, mostly from Venezuela, are in the country under an irregular immigration status. 

Dan Collyns has been speaking to migrants and officials in the city of Tacna on Peru’s southern border with Chile.
