The hundreds of thousands of displaced Sudanese are facing dire living conditions, as many have been forced to seek shelter in tents and shaded areas in the coastal regions of the country.
For many of the displaced in the city of Port Sudan, the living conditions have gotten progressively worse over the last week, with scorching temperatures and the scarcity of water making life even more difficult for the people there.
Meanwhile, in the capital, Khartoum, intense clashes remain a constant, amid an exchange of hostilities between the Sudanese military and the Rapid Support Forces, a powerful paramilitary group that emerged in 2013.
Since the start of the conflict in April 2023, at least 676 people have been killed and 5,576 more wounded, according to official figures - though the real toll is expected to be much higher.
