2023 sees record rise in U.S. mass killings

The first six months of this year are the deadliest for mass killings since at least 2006.

That's according to the latest figures from a database dedicated to tracking these crimes.

There were 28 mass shootings in which at least four people, not including the perpetrator, died.

And that was before another spate of shootings across the country during the Independence Day weekend drove the death toll even higher.
