Minister Xu Xueyuan attends CISCE Enterprise Exchange Meeting

The Chinese Embassy in Washington hosted an enterprise exchange conference to discuss the inaugural China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo.

Embassy Minister Xu Xueyuan addressed the July 14 gathering, saying China and the United States are important components of the global supply chain system and play decisive roles in the development of the world economy. She said China attaches great importance to improving the resilience and security of the industrial chain and supply chain.

More than 110 people participated in the event online and offline, including Ren Hongbin, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade; Craig Allen, president of the United States-China Business Council; and Hu Wei, chairman of the board of directors of the China General Chamber of Commerce-USA. Other participants were from state governments, business associations, agricultural and biomedical companies and other industries.

Minister Xu said China is committed to maintaining a diversified and stable international economic pattern and economic and trade relations. She also said China's super-large-scale market and consumption potential are important engines that stimulate the vitality of the global supply chain.

She said it is in the common interest and in the interests of China and the United States to deepen practical cooperation in the field of international supply chains, form stronger technological and industrial complementarities, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

Xu said it is hoped that through the China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo (CISCE), a new international exchange platform initiated by China, the distance between Chinese and American companies can be further shortened, and more investment and cooperation opportunities can be created for companies from all over the world.

Minister Xu pointed out that recently, China and the United States have resumed high-level mutual visits and reached a series of understandings, the most important of which is to implement the important consensus reached at the meeting between the two heads of state in Bali, based on the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation, and let China-U.S. relations stabilize and improve as soon as possible.

China-U.S. relations should not be a zero-sum game in which you lose and I win, she said. The success of China and the United States is an opportunity for each country rather than a challenge. To properly handle Sino-U.S. relations is to contribute to global peace and development, and to inject stability and certainty into a world full of turmoil.

Chairman Ren Hongbin delivered a speech via video link. He said that the CISCE is the world's first national-level exhibition with the supply chain theme, a new platform for China to promote high-level opening up, and a public product to promote the stability and smoothness of the global supply chain and exchanges and cooperation.

The first Chain Expo hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade will be held from November 28 to December 2 this year in Beijing. The theme will be Connecting the World for a Shared Future. The expo will feature five supply chain categories: Smart Vehicle, Green Agriculture, Clean Energy, Digital Technology, and Healthy Life.
