Union organizers met with U.S President Biden and Independent Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont on Monday, July 17, to discuss unionizing employees at video game companies and coffee-shop chains such as Starbucks.

More people in the U.S. are “standing up and saying it is important for us to have a union so we can earn better wages, better working conditions, better pensions and dignity on the job.” Sanders said.

The United Auto Workers may go on strike soon if negotiations regarding the industry’s transition to electric vehicle manufacturing do not go smoothly.

Teamsters drivers may also strike soon if union negotiations with UPS do not result in their demands being met by July 31.

UPS has said it will begin training non-union employees as drivers if the Teamsters strike.
