Peru faces dengue epidemic as global cases peak

As the climate crisis intensifies, rates of the mosquito-borne disease dengue are rising globally.
The World Health Organization says cases this year could approach record highs and has labeled dengue as the world’s fastest-spreading tropical disease that represents a “pandemic threat.”
