Eight Amazon nations agree on measures to bolster regional cooperation

A two-day summit of Amazon nation leaders ended on August 9 in Brazil with a joint declaration to increase cooperation on policies to protect the vast rainforest. But that declaration fell short of an outright pledge to end deforestation.
